I began painting a Blood Angels Combat Patrol at forty-six. I wanted a physical hobby involving colour, craft, science fiction, and small objects that did not require another screen.
It required another screen. Tutorials helped with priming, paint consistency, and highlights, then became a way to delay painting. A demonstration of one method began to feel like the standard against which the model would be judged.
My working rule is one recipe video, one technique video, then paint.
