A member started a favourite-films thread with recent comedies, teen films, and studio releases. An administrator replied that his favourites numbered in the thousands, then supplied a list anyway. A third member said twenty films from that year alone could qualify.

The first list included Spider-Man, both Men in Black films, the first two American Pie and Scary Movie films, Not Another Teen Movie, Van Wilder, Save the Last Dance, 10 Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed, Road Trip, and all three Austin Powers films.
The administrator replied:
I’m not a big fan of favorite lists, not because I don’t have my favorites, but they number in the thousands. Despite this, I’ll name a few off the top of my head, to keep this thread alive of course.

My list was broad and not especially concerned with respectable categories. Kurosawa, John Wayne, George Romero, and Vanilla Sky all appeared without explanation.
